CONTACT

The casting methods for large bed frame castings generally include lost foam casting, resin sand casting, solid casting, high-grade casting, etc. For example, the bed frame, columns, beams, slide tables, etc. of large cast iron platforms for machine tools are all cast using these casting processes. Large casting material: HT200-350, capable of handling castings weighing around 60 tons per piece. The advantages of using resin sand casting for large castings are that lost foam casting has significant advantages in producing single or small batches of automotive coverings, machine tool beds, and other large castings, as well as good surface quality. The principle for selecting casting methods: Sand casting is preferred for large castings, and the casting method should be suitable for the production batch. Low pressure casting, die-casting, centrifugal casting and other casting methods are only suitable for mass production due to the expensive equipment and molds. Large castings can be cast individually or in bulk.

Large bed frame castings are a type of large castings, and the specifications of bed frame castings vary, requiring multiple casting technologies. The casting method generally adopts the lost foam casting process, resin sand casting, solid casting, high-grade casting, etc. For example, the bed, columns, beams, sliding tables, etc. of large machine tool castings are all cast using these casting processes.

Characteristics of large bed frame castings:

(1) Good shock absorption performance. Due to the favorable lubrication and oil storage properties of graphite in cast iron. Similarly, due to the presence of graphite, the shock absorption of gray cast iron is superior to that of steel.

(2) Good process performance. Due to its high carbon content and eutectic composition, gray cast iron has a relatively low melting point, good flowability, and low shrinkage rate, making it suitable for casting complex or thin-walled castings. In addition, due to the tendency of graphite to form chips during cutting, the machinability of gray cast iron is superior to that of steel.

(3) The relationship between hardness and tensile strength: There is a corresponding relationship between the hardness and tensile strength of gray cast iron.
