Why do cast iron platforms need to be manually ground

Let's learn about the benefits of our manual scraping and grinding process. The scraping and grinding surface is used for inspecting flat cast iron workpieces that have not been quenched. It allows for a tight touch between two surfaces, achieving high shape and orientation accuracy. The machining accuracy can reach IT7 level or above, and the surface roughness value is Ra0.8-0.1 μ m. After scraping and grinding, the flat surface of the cast iron inspection plate can form a sliding surface with a lubricating oil film, which can reduce the wear between the relative moving surfaces and enhance the touch stiffness between the joint surfaces of the parts. The surface quality of scraping is determined by the number of touch points per unit area. For rough scraping, it is 1-2 points/cm2, for semi fine scraping, it is 2-3 points/cm2, and for fine scraping, it is 3-4 points/cm2. If scraping technology is not used, there is no such thing as precision for cast iron plates. Although scraping and grinding are relatively old traditional processes and manual scraping is more meticulous, the cost will be higher. However, high cost will produce good products, and the accuracy of manual scraping and grinding will reach level 1, which is worth the money!
